Data Protection & Research Ethics
Thank you for your interest in our research!
Poor sleep, or sleep deprivation, can have significant negative impacts on general health. It can lead to a range of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, mental health problems, cognitive impairments, and an increased risk of accidents.
This research aims to understand the links between behaviours, physiology and sleep.
Should you have any concerns with poor sleep, please visit the official NHS page (https://www.nhs.uk/every-mind-matters/mental-health-issues/sleep/) or SleepHubs (https://sleephubs.com/) for professional advice.
The International Sleep Charity is the data controller for your personal data collected through the survey and is subject to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. All responses are collected and stored securely. You have the option to leave your contact information if you wish to subscribe to newsletters from the International Sleep Charity, but all personally identifiable information will be removed prior to analysis.
Please contact the lead researcher Yizhou Yu (email: yizhouy@internationalsleepcharity.org) for any information or concerns. Please note that all participants must be above 18 years old. The primary use of the data collected will be for scientific research, the results of which will be submitted to a reputable research journal.
